Who knows and who cares; Whom knows and Whom cares? Wno is Wnom?--Is that true?

 Why do I strive to do anything well? Because I give the result of the action to myself, foremost? Because it strengthens my self-esteem? (Do doing of it well). Why do I care? Who am I? The whom that I am -- is He or he the reason? That I do my ""level best"). Because of the Third Law of Thermodynamics? Because I know that as we sow, so shall we reap? Do I know that? What do I do? Do I do? Do I have a purpose? Does it matter? Is that a useful question? I matter, therefore I exist. I don't exist except for the reason that I am and my nature is to matter. Am I Existence? Existence--is that pure Being? Being becomes? Existence simply is. But it becomes that which exists. Why? Tony Nader, who is perhaps the best student today of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, wrote and speaks about Consciousness. As did Maharishi. Consciousness is all that there is. It's nature is to be conscious. Perhaps to be correct in punctuation, I should write: The nature of Consciousness is to be conscious. Can only Consciousness be conscious? Must that which is conscious be Consciousness? Am I conscious? Am I Consciousness? Am I conscious because I am, because I am Consciousness? Must there be Consciousness? Am I ever aware but aware of nothing? Is nothing, real? What does real mean? Does real mean that which is not, only, virtual?-- not just virtual? Does virtual mean not real? That which is virtual is not matter.--while it is only virtual. Can something be virtual and real both? Can something come out of nothing? What is nothing?

Foolishness

 I had pastoral counselling in the fall of 1968. He asked me what I thought of pre-marital sex. I said, "I think if they really love each other, they will wait until they are married before having sex". He asked, "What about the engaged couples who had sex before they were married". So, he changed my mind, and later he said it would be okay to use drugs if I wanted to. He had approved under-age drinking earlier, too.

Common Sense

 An artist and crafstman, well can I prove that? I believe that the scriptures are the ultimate authority on right and wrong. What is circumcision? What is referred to in the Bible as circumcision?  What is the Tree of Life? What is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil? I think that Satan or the devil is supposed to be Lucifer, who was an angel. He thought he was better than God. Or he "turned to the dark side". I believe that pre-marital sex is what is referred to as licentiousness. It is a sin according to the scriptures. A wrong. I believe that sex with anyone with whom one has not made a life-long commitment of fidelity is a mistake. I'm not aware of any exception. One should at least obey the law of the land. Same-sex marriages should be alright, but they should be celibate.

I am welcoming refinishing again.

I will be accepting refinishing work on small items, like chairs which also need re-caning. I am semi-retired, so I don't guarantee a short "turn around" time.

Basic Rate for Caning

 $2.90 per hole is my basic rate. Includes the cane.

I am taking the chance of putting this old poem "out there".

Sometimes we're up;

Sometimes we're down.

Takes a little while for the world to go around.

So if you're feeling happy, if you're feeling gay,

Won't be long 'til you feel another way.

Hey, here is my thing.

I am available to re-cane chairs. The seven-step strand caning. The strands are individually woven by hand. That's what I still like to do.
I have been interested in building chairs with trees. The workbench that is traditionally used is called a shavehorse. There was a video on YouTube lasting over an hour of a worker in that type of woodworking building a shavehorse itself. It's not a sawhorse, but a shavehorse; because the wood is still soft enough to shave, as it were, using a drawknife, or sometimes a spokeshave. The tree is usually cut in the winter when the sap is down. I think this type of woodworking was done before the advent of industrialism. It has a lot of advantages over so called traditional or modern woodworking. Or conventional woodworking. I would like to build "easy" chairs (comfortable chairs for taking it easy in). Upholstered or caned or both. I suppose all-wood chairs could have cushions on them, or one on the seat with a caned back. I would like to have one myself that is wide enough to sit "Indian" fashion when that is comfortable. A foot stool or ottoman seems pretty important, too, to me.
